Remanufactured Transmission for Ford 4R70W/E
The Ford 4R75W/E transmission includes notable enhancements and changes, including a reworked fluid pump, a reinforced ring gear, and a stronger torque converter, while having similar designs to the Ford 4R70W/E. The 4R75 is a lighter-duty gearbox often found in 4.6L V8 engines and the bigger V-8 with a 5.4L starting in 2004 used the 4R75 transmission exclusively. It was introduced for the 2003 model year to be a more durable alternative to the 4R70. Greater integration between the engine's PCM and the gearbox's sensors led to a more intelligent shift plan in the "E" variants of the transmission.
Remanufactured Transmission for Chevrolet/GMC 4L80E
The heavy-duty TH400 transmission gave rise to the 4L80E transmission. The TH400 only provided a total of 3 forward speeds, however, the 4L80E includes a fourth-gear overdrive option. The TH400 gearbox was eventually retired due to the requirement for an overdrive transmission. The 4L80 differs from the other transmissions in that it features a 0.75:1 overdrive for 3/4- and 1-ton pickup trucks with either a 6.2L or 6.5L diesel engine while having equal ratios. The 4L85E is utilized with GMC and Chevrolet vans equipped with Duramax diesel engines and offers a slightly greater input torque capacity. The 4L85E was thereafter superseded with the 6-speed 6L90.
